Paris – The attorney for Larry Wayne Wooten has filed an appeal of his murder conviction, just two weeks before Wooten's scheduled execution.
He was convicted for the 1996 murders of 80-year-old Grady Alexander and his 86-year-old wife Bessie in Paris.
The couple was beaten, stabbed and had their throats slashed in a robbery.
Wooten is set to die October 21. His attorney is asking for a 60 day reprieve.
