Citizens in unincorporated Texas area again urged to follow proper burning procedures amid two local wildfires that burned 50 acres Tuesday.
Hunt County Fire Marshall Richard Hill says it took seven departments to extinguish 10 acres of land near Lone Oak along CR 3214, in what is believed the result of an unattended fire that got out of control. Hill says when burning trash, it’s important to keep an eye on it, and also to avoid burning when winds are high.
Another fire in southern Fannin County Tuesday burned roughly 40 acres which was believed fueled by dozens of bales of hay. No area county is currently under a burn ban.
