Northeast Texas – A few local counties have made the list of the nation's fastest growing counties. A recurring name on the list, Rockwall County has retained its position as third fastest growing county in the nation, and the fastest growing county in Texas. Rockwall posted a 46.1% growth last year.
Another area county to make the list is Rains County. Rains hit the list at 41 for the fastest growing counties in the nation. For Texas, it ranks 9th, a drop from the number 8 position Rains County held for the previous two years.
Other Texas counties making the Top 100 were Collin, Kaufman, Denton, Williamson, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Hays, Comal, Burnet, Bastrop, and Kendall.
