A Wood County man has been sentenced to prison after admitting to the armed hold-up of a Greenville convenience store last summer.

Timothy Wayne Fortune, Jr., 23, of Quitman, pleaded guilty Wednesday during a hearing in the 354th District Court to one count of aggravated robbery.

Fortune was sentenced to 25 years in the Texas Department of Corrections-Institutional Division and fined $1,000. Fortune received one indictment last September for aggravated robbery in connection with the incident on the afternoon of July 11, 2013 at a store at 3805 Lee Street.

The indictment alleges he robbed the business while displaying a firearm. Fortune was found to have used a deadly weapon, a firearm, during the commission of the robbery and will have to spend at least half of the sentence, or 12 and one-half years, in prison before he will be eligible to be considered for parole.
