Hunt County – A parole violation will cost a Hunt County man prison time.
John Scott Thompson II, formerly of Commerce, was placed on 10 years of deferred adjudication probation in October after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
That probation was revoked Monday and Thompson sentenced to 12 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division.
Thompson had reportedly violated his probation by admitting to smoking marijuana and by failing to participate in the community service restitution program, among other violations.
Thompson had been charged in connection with an incident in November, 2006, which reportedly followed a sexual encounter involving Thompson's girlfriend and a male victim's wife.
