Area schools appear on TEA's underperforming list

By Scott Harvey

– Commerce High School is among area schools to appear on the Texas Educations Agency's list of underperforming schools.

The school appeared on the list due in part to being rated academically unacceptable. However, CISD officials filed and were awarded an appeal in the fall citing a clerical error. The district is rated as Academically Acceptable.

Other area schools appearing on the list included three campuses within the Greenville ISD, Quinlan Ford High School, Paris High School and Junior High, and Sulphur Springs HS.

A complete list of Texas schools on the list can be found at http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/taa/perfreport121509a.pdf.
