Arraignments held in local fraud case

By Brad Kellar

Hunt County – Arraignments are held in connection to a Hunt County oil and gas fraud case.

Michael Day Lamont and Carl Tinsley Ratner pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of engaging in organized crime involving a Wolfe City oil and gas firm.

Lamont, who already had hired an attorney, had his bonds lowered from $100,000 on each charge to $10,000.

Lamont, of Allen, and Carl Tinsley Ratner, address unknown, were indicted by the Hunt County grand jury last month along with Donald Joseph Dean, of Tyler.

There still was no word Thursday as to whether Dean had been taken into custody or when he might be arraigned.
