– Federal authorities have scheduled a news conference Thursday morning in Tyler to release details about a case against an east Texas man who allegedly possessed a pipe bomb unlawfully.
A federal grand jury has indicted Larry Gene North. The Henderson man is being held without bond in the Smith County Jailin Tyler.
Authorities say that at least 16 explosive devices or lookalikes have been found in east Texas mailboxes, including five pipe bombs. None has detonated and no injuries have been reported.
ATF officials have said they believe most of the incidents are related.
