Arrest pending in alleged vehicle-pedestrian incident

TYLER - A Sulphur Springs woman is in critical condition from an apparent hit-and-run more than a week ago in East Texas.

A hospital official tells KETR that 35-year-old Brandie Alicen Williams remained at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler as of Monday afternoon.

The Longview News-Journal reported last week that Williams was found unconscious in a ditch near Highway 11 west of Pittsburg on February 26. She was airlifted to Tyler.

An investigation has led to the discovery of a vehicle that had a considerable amount of damage to the windshield and hood. An arrest is pending and the suspect will be charged with failing to stop and render aid with serious bodily injury. The name of the suspect is being withheld until the arrest is made.
