Arrests follow shooting in Greenville

A shooting in Greenville on Jan. 15 resulted in two wounded victims and four arrests, according to the Greenville Police Department.

Around noon, officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 2500 block of Broadview Street in Greenville, police said. Once there, officers were told that a shooting had occurred and that once victim had been taken to Hunt Regional Hospital with an arm wound, officials said.

Police then issued an alert for suspects in a blue, extended-cab Dodge truck. Hopkins County Sheriff's Department officers soon pulled over a truck matching the description near the Hunt/Hopkins County line, police said. Once the truck stopped, a suspect ran from the vehicle, but was apprehended nearby, they said. The truck had three occupants, all of whom were arrested and remain in custody, police said.

Later that day, a person arriving at Hunt Regional Hospital with a a gunshot wound to the leg claimed to have been shot in the same incident, police said.

As a result of the investigation into the shooting, a 28-year-old woman was arrested at the Broadview Street address for possession of a controlled substance, police said.
