By Brad Kellar

Greenville – The 2009 case of a Greenville man shot by a Hunt County Sheriff's deputy will soon see its day in court.

Charles Boyd Rose could face up to life in prison if convicted. He remains in the Hunt County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a peace officer, for which he's pleaded not guilty.

A February 21 trial date has been set.

Rose had previously been found to be incompetent to stand trial and committed to a mental health facility, but later found to competent to stand trial and returned to local custody.
