Attorney appointed in Commerce stabbing case

Commerce – An attorney is appointed in a Commerce stabbing case.

17-year-old Corey Dominic Heath still remained in custody as of Wednesday morning, seeking a reduction in his $35,000 bond on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. An attorney was appointed to represent him Tuesday.

Heath has reportedly confessed to slashing the throat of the victim following an argument over a shirt in the 1900 block of Pecan Street. The victim's throat was reportedly cut from his adam's apple to his left ear with a pocket knife, a wound that required approximately 1,000 stitches to close.
