Autopsy indicates stabbing of local man

By Scott Harvey

Winnsboro – New evidence in the death of an elderly Winnsboro man backs previous suspicions of foul play.

Wood County investigators say preliminary autopsy results show that 82-year-old Don Randoll Askew died of multiple stab wounds to the chest. His body was found February 25, but his daughters say they believe he may have been killed the day before.

DNA evidence has been sent to a lab for processing, and that could provide more information in the case. Investigator Jerry Blalock says there are some leads in the case and they are looking for a person of interest.
