Wood County – An investigation is underway in Wood County after authorities found a body in the back seat of a burned out vehicle north of Winnsboro.
The body of the unidentified person was been sent for an autopsy to determine a positive I.D. and exact cause of death.
The severity of the fire was so bad there's very little evidence for investigators to go on, but they do believe the fire was deliberately set. It's uncertain when the death occurred but investigators don't believe the murder happened where the vehicle was found.
Franklin County deputies, Texas Rangers and the state fire marshall are investigating.
