COMMERCE - Commerce ISD Board of Trustees Monday took time to recognize the Lady Tiger basketball team, who finished Bi-district Champions in 3A. The Tigers defeated Gainseville 57-46 on February 13 to claim the honor.
The team would then go on to lose vs. Princeton 51-31 in the Area round.
The Tigers represent a large number of local schools, both girls and boys, competing in the state basketball playoffs.
Still in the hunt going into Regional Quarterfinal games this week for girls Class 3A were Princeton and North Lamar.
The Bi-district round of boys hoops begins this week. The Greenville Lions take on Kilgore and Royse City plays John Tyler in Class 4A, Paris and Gladewater in 3A, Cooper takes on Pottsboro in Class 2A, and Bland vs. North Hopkins and Boles vs. Honey Grove in Class A.
