By Kevin Jefferies

Rockwall – Two men are being held in Rockwall County jail after police found 115 pounds of marijuana and 60 pounds of cocaine in the vehicle they were driving. 31 year old Carlos Lopez and 22 year old Hector Diaz were stopped between Fate and Royse City for a seatbelt violation. After displaying nervous and fidgety behavior, Investigator Mark Spears of the Northeast Area Drug Interdiction Task Force began a search of the 1997 Mountaineer the men were driving. Drugs were found hidden in the speakers, inside the back doors, and inside panels throughout the car.

Both men have been charged with first degree felony possession for the cocaine which carries as much as 99 years in prison and a $10,000 fine; and also with second degree felony possession for the marijuana, which carries up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Both Lopez and Diaz are from southern Mexico. Diaz was carrying a loaded gun at the time of the arrest, but was not charged with carrying the concealed weapon.
