Commerce – Community members are invited to participate tomorrow in the 10th annual Big Event in Commerce. The city wide beautification ranges from general litter pick up to hazardous waste disposal, recycling and document shredding.
Chamber of Commerce Manager Barbara Kersey will be handing out trash bags and rubber gloves tomorrow morning at City Park between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. for anyone wanted to pick up litter. You'll have the choice of participating in any of nearly 25 different tasks throughout town. Volunteers are also invited to a luncheon from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., where live music will be provided. In the past the Big Event has produced over 200 volunteers to assist in the various tasks. To learn more about how you can participate in the Big Event contact the Chamber office at 903-886-3950.
