Big Improvements Made At Big Creek Lake

The City of Cooper with a grant sponsored by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department U.S. Department of the Interior/Fish and Wildlife Services were able to do many improvements to the Big Creek Lake Park grounds.

According to City of Cooper Mayor Scotty Stegall, the City extended the boat ramp, dredged the channel of the boat ramp, removed the willow trees, made more accessible parking including two handicap parking spaces, repaired the fishing dock and packed new gravel along the road and parking area.

This grant was a Federal Aid in sport fishing restoration act project.
