BONHAM - The Bonham ISD is the recipient of a 50,000 grant to enhance energy use. The district this week approved a resolution authorizing an agreement into the Energy Efficiency Grants and Technical Assistance Program.
The district applied for and received a $50,000 grant through the State Energy Conservation Office. The grant will require the district to allocate $10,000 as matching funds.
A number of devices will be purchased and installed to help the district become more energy efficient. Superintendent Sonny Cruse explained Monday that the installed items could be moved or reused if this November’s bond issue is successful, which calls for improvements to Bonham High School and I.W. Evans Intermediate.
