KETR is on the air but offline because we're making the transition to our new home in Binnion Hall!
The first broadcast from Binnion, as shown in the picture, was done by (L) John Mark Dempsey and (R) Kevin Jefferies, KETR Operations Manager. Dr. Dempsey was one of the first student broadcasters at A&M-Commerce in 1975 when KETR began from the Journalism Building. Later, John Mark was KETR News Director. Now, he is on the Radio-Television (RTV) faculty at A&M-Commerce. Kevin, like John Mark, is a graduate of the A&M-Commerce RTV program.
Joining Kevin and John Mark for the first words from Binnion were two current A&M-Commerce RTV students. At the far left, Jeffrey Clay is a freshman from Irving. At the far right is Tim Davis, a junior from Greenville.
For most of the 32 year history of KETR, studios were located in the Performing Arts Center. That space will now be used by the RTV and Theatre departments.
Check back frequently to ketr.org as we work on transferring the webstream to the new studios!
We are also working to resume NPR hourly newscasts and Marketplace morning business reports.
