Board approves new hires

The Cooper Independent School District Board of Trustees heard the many upcoming events happening before the end of school.

“Enrollment is holding strong for the end of school and we have spring sports in full swing with banquet season too,” said Cooper ISD Superintendent Denicia Hohenberger.

During closed executive session the Board voted to extend all of the teacher contracts and made two new hires: Amber Norris for Jr./Sr. High Instructional Specialist and Jerri Pickering for Ag Science teacher.

“These two ladies will be great additions to our staff,” said Superintendent Hohenberger on the new hires.

Cooper Junior High Principal Richard Roan updated the Board on the upcoming overnight events scheduled. He added the Junior High Student Council will be promoting an “Anti-Bullying Week” next week.

The All Sports Athletic Banquet is set for Tuesday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m.

The Board will meet again at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 18 at the administration building.
