Board elections, scholarships highlight CISD meeting

Topping the discussion at the Cooper ISD Board of Trustees regular meeting was the funds for the Maroon & Gray scholarship and election seats last Monday night, Feb. 17.

CISD Superintendent Denicia Hohenberger informed the Board of addition ways the District is able to help support their students and the Maroon & Gray Foundation with $1,000 from Coca Cola contract and $500 from the Employee Safety Award. ATMOS recently gave the Maroon & Gray Foundation a $350 donation toward student scholarships. Giving the check was Jeanette Moser, Greenville District Manager of Public Affairs, to Foundation Board members Mandy Freeman, Misty Lair, Kendra Ingram and Janeen Gibson.

The Board approved the election for May 10 for the purpose of electing two Board members for three year terms (currently filled by President Thomas Darden and Vice President Blake Randle) and one Board members for two years unexpired terms (filled by member Anita Moody). Early voting will be at the Administration Office at 350 West McKinney in Cooper from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. beginning on April 28 and ending May 6.
