Body of Paris military soldier to return home Thursday

By Scott Harvey

Paris – The body of 24 year old Marine Sgt. Jay M. Hoskins, of Paris, will be flown into Cox Field tomorrow about noon.

Area residents are asked to line the streets as Sgt Hoskins's body is transported to Fry-Gibbs Funeral Parlor. The funeral will be held in the North Lamar Gym with full military honors on Saturday at 10 am.

Hoskins is the first combat casualty from Paris in the post 9-11 era. He and two other military soldiers were killed following a roadside bomb attack in Afghanistan.

Hoskins was on his third tour of duty in the Middle East. He's a 2003 graduate of North Lamar High School.

Hoskins is survived by his wife and one-year-old child. His wife is expecting another child in January.
