Commerce – This weekend you can take part in the 23rd annual Bois d'Arc Bash in Commerce.
The event is held to celebrate Max, a 300-year old Bois d'Arc on Hickory St., listed as a famous and historic tree by American Forests.
Chamber of Commerce Manager Barbra Kersey says the event is held to honor the heritage of the city. During Commerce's centennial in 1985, it was decided that an annual festival would be held to honor the Bois d'Arc.
Among the events featured include live entertainment, 5K walk/run, wine tasting, and a classic car and truck show.
