Bolton to retire after long tenure with district

SULPHUR SPRINGS - Sulphur Springs ISD Superintendent Patsy Bolton has submitted her resignation after 43 years with the district. 

Prior to taking over as superintendent nearly eight years ago, Bolton served as a teacher, director of community education, director of elementary education/federal programs, and assistant superintendent.  

Bolton notified the Board of Trustees on Monday of her intentions to retire, which will become effective at the end of her contract in June.
