Bond election propsed for Bonham ISD

By Scott Harvey

Bonham – The Facilities Committee at Bonham ISD is recommending the district call a $25 million bond election for campus renovations.

The Committee's proposed, issued Tuesday, called for enlarging Bonham High School by adding classrooms and building a new gym and cafeteria. They've also called for renovations to I.W. Evans Intermediate School, which is reportedly 25 percent over capacity.

There was no word on what way the district may be leaning. They have until March 14 to call an election. The item would go on the May ballot.

In November, 2009, The Bonham ISD failed to win approval of a $40 million bond proposal for school improvements.
