Bonds for road projects to be awarded soon

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Improvements are on the way for Trader's Road and Monty Stratton Pkwy in Greenville following approval of a plan Tuesday.

The Council voted to announce its intention to sell about $5.7 million in bonds to pay for two projects.

Upgrading the two thoroughfares has been discussed for years, but this is the first time the city has moved to fund both projects.

Tuesday's vote was not to issue the bonds, but will serve as the city's 30-day notice of the intent to do so.

The details of the projects are still being ironed out.
