Bonham company and EPA reach settlement

By Scott Harvey

Bonham – A Bonham company, found in violation of federal regulations with the Environmental Protection Agency, has agreed to a settlement.

The violations by Voluntary Purchasing Groups, Incorporated , or VPG, were in contrast with the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act.

The EPA says the company was cooperative with the investigation.

VPG reportedly sold a pesticide that had a composition which was different than what was registered.

Details of the settlement were not released.

The EPA says proper labeling of products is critical to protecting the health of citizens and the environment.
