Bonham – The City of Bonham has hired a new Fire Chief, according to North Texas E-news. William Palya will be replacing interim Fire Chief Brad Nichols who took over when Chief Mike Baker left the department last spring. Palya has served with the Sherman Fire and EMS Department for 26 years and is the owner/founder of the HAZCO Emergency Response Training Center near Grayson County Airport. A certified paramedic, Payla also has served as an instructor for Texas A&M since 1989.
Palya will be come the head of the Bonham Fire/Rescue/EMS Department, which provides service for the Bonham Fire District and ambulance services for all of Fannin County.
