Bonham – A Bonham man is convicted of capital murder in connection to the death of his girlfriend's two year old son.
Corey Don Louis was convicted Friday by a Fannin County jury and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He was charged with beating to death his girlfriend's son, two-year-old Channing Terrell Matthews.
The Sherman Herald Democrat is reporting Louis maintained his innocence and claimed he didn't receive a fair trial.
The toddler's mother, Danielle Cuba, previously pleaded guilty and is now serving 50 years behind bars.
