Dallas – The condition of a young boy shot in the head by his own mother in a murder-suicide last week is improving.
Ten-year-old Dalton Young underwent surgery Saturday at Children's Hospital in Dallas.
His mother, Salida Young, is said to have shot him in the head last Monday at their home in the Lamar County community of Powderly. Lamar County Sheriff's Deputies said they believe the shooting was premeditated. They said Salida Young also shot and killed another woman, Kayla Roberts, and then turned the gun on herself committing suicide.
Roberts, of Paris, was attending classes at A&M-Commerce and was scheduled to graduate this December.
