Micah Crofford Brown was formally sentenced Monday morning to death by lethal injection for the July 20, 2011 shooting death of Stella Michelle "Doc" Ray. An appeal is automatic in the case.
Cindy Ray Kemp, Ray's sister, released the following statement Friday afternoon, after a jury sentenced Brown to the death penalty:
“After hearing all sides of this case, Doc is my Hero. She protected her children, all three not just the two in her car. On behalf of the Ray family we would like to thank all that brought the light forward. We pray for the Brown family and we pray for Micah’s soul. The trial is over but the suffering is not. We’ve got three children who will never have their mother again. However, by the Grace of God, we know He will carry us through all these things.”
