Burglars strike Quinlan businesses

By Kevin Jefferies

Quinlan – A reward is being offered after a rash of burglaries in Quinlan. Five businesses have been burglarized this year with the latest being Marvin's Barber Shop, which was hit late last month. Thousands of dollars in stolen cash and property damages have resulted from the burglaries, and some of the victims have said the crimes are a result of having no officers on duty during late night hours.

Quinlan Police Chief Johnny Thornburg said the police have several leads on the burglaries and are continuing to investigate. He also said the three police officers in Quinlan have done extra night patrols and will continue to do so until the burglars are identified and arrested.

Donnie Williams of Home Town Laundromat, one of the businesses hit by the burglars, is offering a $500 reward for any information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information is urged to call Quinlan Police at 903.356.2500.
