Burglary of local restaurant causes damages

Commerce, TX – The Commerce Police Department is investigating a break in at McDonald's Restaurant that occurred in the early morning hours of December 19th.

Surveillance video indicates at least one suspect broke into the business and began ransacking the restaurant.

The suspect caused several thousand dollars worth of damage to the restaurant. The suspect was only able to get away with some change. Evidence left at the restaurant relating to the suspect identification was recovered and is being processed at this time. It appears that the suspect or suspects fled when employees began arriving for work.

McDonald's opened up late and had to process orders and monies without the use of the computer system for several hours due to the damage caused by the burglary.
