Bus wreck scares football players in Royse City

By AP News

Royse City – A Royse City school bus carrying
junior varsity football players to a game overturned yesterday along a curve.

Authorities say at least a half-dozen students were taken to hospitals -- as a precaution -- following the accident about 40 miles northeast of Dallas.

Royse City Police Chief Tom Shelton says in The Dallas Morning News that two or three players suffered serious head
injuries and about a half-dozen had minor injuries.

The bus ended up on its side along Farm to Market Road 1777 in rural Collin County.

Royse City Superintendent Mike Harris said everyone got off the bus safely.

Twenty-five sophomores and juniors, and two coaches were on the bus that was carrying players to a game with Nevada
Community.
