Sarah Dacus, community development specialist with the city of Sulphur Springs, says the downtown "Celebration District" will host a number of Christmas and holiday-oriented events Saturday. The events include a holiday marketplace; the Northeast Texas Choral Society presenting a concert of holiday music at 3 p.m.; "Fill the Trolley," accepting donations of toys for children from 5 to 7, with a donated toy as the admission to a concert by Matt Dunn at 7 p.m. in City Hall; and a showing of "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" at 6 p.m. on the square.
Also, Sarah says Sulphur Springs will soon be home to a new Starbuck's on I-30. She says Burgerland, a popular Paris restaurant, will open a location in downtown Sulphur Springs, along with The Alcove, a winery and craft-beer restaurant.
