Caddo Mills teacher slain by ex-husband

By Kevin Jefferies

Greenville – During a press conference Thursday afternoon, Greenville Police Chief Daniel J. Buskin said police had a videotaped confession from Micah Brown acknowledging his involvement in the shooting death of his ex-wife, Stella Brown. He is expected to be formally charged sometime Friday morning.

Stella Brown was a teacher at Caddo Mills High School and had her two and three year old children in the backseat of her car when she was shot and killed by Micah Brown at 10:20 on Wednesday night. She had called police to report being followed by her ex-husband and that she feared for her life. Police arrived on the scene and witnessed Micah brown fire a shot then leave in his vehicle.

Stella Brown was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
A DPS helicopter was called in to help search for Micah brown as well as officers from multiple area police departments. At 3am, police responded to a call about a man with a gun a few miles outside Greenville on Highway 69 North and took 32 year old Micah Crofford Brown into custody.

A candlelight vigil has been scheduled for 8pm Friday on the parking lot of Caddo Mills High School and grief counseling has been arranged for Caddo Mills ISD employees.
