Cameran Nelson performing live.

A relative newcomer to the Texas music scene, Cameran Nelson pulls from his life experiences to create his brand of Texas country. He has lived across the state: everywhere from the Gulf Coast, to Northeast Texas, and his current home in the Hill Country, and he's always counting down to the next live show.

Nelson  (no relation to that "other" Nelson family) released his latest Good Thing Going album in 2015, and regularly takes his show across Texas, Oklahoma  and Louisiana. Matt Meinke caught up with Cameran on the road towards Commerce for his March 11th show at The Drunken Mule.

More about the artist is available at his website. Notably Texan airs weekdays from Noon-3pm on KETR.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Matt moved to the Sulphur Springs area in 1990 and settled in Commerce shortly thereafter. Having dreamed of working in radio since childhood, he began working at KETR while taking Radio-Television courses at Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1993. Matt has transitioned from a part-time worker and pupil of KETR, to the station’s Chief Announcer/Producer and supervisor of student broadcasters. A familiar voice of 88-9 KETR, Matt has hosted such shows as The Late Nite Lion, and can currently be heard as host of Notably Texan.
