The Texas "campus carry" law went into effect today. It might more accurately be called "campus concealed carry," as open display of firearms on Texas college campuses remains prohibited. Licensed handgun owners with a license to carry concealed handguns may now carry on campus - with exceptions.

Psychology and Community Counseling Clinic, Binnion Hall
Student Assessment and Evaluation Testing Lab, Student Access and Success Center
Student Health Services, Henderson Hall
U.S. Post Office, Postal Services Building
Any location where standardized exams are being administered
Any location where intercollegiate or interscholastic games or competitions are being held
Any location where University Interscholastic League events are being held
Any building with events heavily attended by minors, as determined by the University
The President's home, during events as deemed appropriate by the President
Temporary prohibitions in designated areas when determined necessary
OK for concealed carry
Athletics facilities (excluding intercollegiate and interscholastic games and competitions)
Classrooms
Morris Recreation Center
Residential facilities
Rooms where disciplinary hearings are being held
