Candidates make it official in Hunt, Hopkins Counties

– A number of Hunt County Republicans made it official Thursday, the first day to file for the March Primary election.

Jennifer Lindenzweig filed for the office of Hunt County Clerk, Brian Alford and Wayne Money both filed for Hunt County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Place; Charles "Chuck" Calkins, Jack Schultz and Don Smith for Justice of the Peace Precinct 4; Aaron Williams filed for re-election as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3; and Herman Orange for the Republican nomination for Hunt County Commissioner Precinct 2.

The only person to file Thursday for a Democratic seat in Hunt County was Jennifer Reeves, Incumbent Hunt County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2.

In Hopkins County, eight Democratic incumbents filed for re-election.

They include County Judge Cletis Millsap, Precinct 4 Commissioner Danny Evans, Court-At-Law Judge Amy Smith, Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Yvonne King, Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Ronny Glossup, District Clerk Patricia Dorner, County Clerk Debbie Shirley, and County Treasurer Treva Watson.

On the Republican Party ballot in Hopkins County are County Chairman Donnie Wisenbaker, Trey Hinton for Precinct 2 Commissioner, Erwin Cain for District 3 State Representative and John Cooper for District 4 Representative.

Candidates have from now until January 4, 2010 to file for the March Primaries.
