Candlelight vigil tonight for slain teacher

By Kevin Jefferies

Caddo Mills –
Caddo Mills High School teacher Stella Michelle Ray, who was slain Wednesday in Greenville, will be remembered tonight in a candlelight vigil. The vigil will be held at 8pm at the Caddo mills High School.

Ray was described by family as a "very happy spirit" and dedicated teacher. Ray carried a lifelong self-imposed nickname of "Doc" and was no more proud of the name than when she earned her Doctorate from A&M-Commerce in December.

An account has been established at Alliance Bank in Greenville for the benefit of Ray's three children, ages 15, 3, and 2. The children are now in the care of Ray's family.

Police have a videotaped confession from Ray's ex-husband, Micah Brown, admitting to his involvement in her murder. He was arraigned today on one count of murder with bond set at $1.5 million.
