Cause of Bonham fire remains mystery

By Scott Harvey

Bonham – It is still unclear what caused a Sunday afternoon apartment fire in Bonham that killed three, including two young children.

According to Bonham Police Chief Mike Bangston, 31-year-old Brandi Goleman, and her two children, ages one and three were killed when the fire swept through a portion of the two-story, 16 unit complex. No other major injuries were reported.

Reports are also indicating another fire hit the region early this morning, as a house was destroyed near the Hunt, Collin County line. Fortunately the home was a rental property for sale, and was unoccupied.

A Caddo Mills Fire official on scene said the house was fully engulfed upon arrival. No immediate word on how the blaze got started.
