Change promised at troubled Greenville apt.

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Keith Ward is the attorney for the company named as the receiver for the complex. He says most of the overdue utility bills owed by the Chalet Apartments have been paid, and that efforts are underway to repair a sewage leak at the complex.

According to Ward, he has the ability to make any immediate changes needed to address any pending code violations dealing with hazards to life and safety.

Water services were shut off at the apartment Monday because of the leak.

Local social service agencies are currently assisting residents in the 27 units that are being occupied.
