Charges dropped against former county judge

By Brad Kellar

Hunt County – Allegations have been dismissed against a former Hunt County Judge. Former Hunt County Judge Joe Bobbitt has been cleared by the Hunt County grand jury of all charges relating to the alleged disappearance of county records pertaining to the construction of the county jail. The panel issued "no bills" Friday, indicating there was insufficient evidence to proceed with issuing any indictments. The no bills referred to the alleged removal of public information, possession of government records by an individual and tampering with government records, all alleged to have occurred when Bobbitt left office in January, 2007.
