Charges dropped in stabbing case

By Brad Kellar

West Tawakoni – Charges have been dropped in an area stabbing case. Prosecutors have dropped an aggravated assault charge filed against Christopher Scott Carson, of Rockwall, in connection with a reported stabbing in West Tawakoni. Carson was indicted by the Hunt County grand jury in January 2008 on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to a statement by Hunt County District Attorney Nobel Walker, the State was unable to locate or serve subpoenas on several key witnesses in this case. Without the testimony, the State would be unable to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt, therefore the charges were dismissed.

The alleged attack on a West Tawakoni man in August, 2007 reportedly left the victim with stab wounds in the back of the head, his arms and his abdomen. The cuts on the midsection were so deep; the victim's intestines were believed to be protruding from his body. Carson was arrested the following day.
