Charges filed against former political candidate

By Brad Kellar

Charges have been filed against a former political candidate. People Against Drugs Affordable Public Housing, Inc., are alleged to have violated the Texas Nonprofit Corporation Act.

The Suit includes the corporation's founder and three of its directors, including Gene Christensen of Celina, a former Republican candidate for the office of U.S. House of Representatives District 4, which includes Hunt County.

The defendants are said to have illegally used charitable resources to fund Christensen's salary, and advance his political career. He was one of four GOP candidates who faced incumbent Rep. Ralph Hall of Rockwall in the March Party primary, which Hall won.
