Commerce – Tomorrow is Child Safety Day in Commerce and is being marked by the 6th Annual Child Safety Fair on the A&M-Commerce campus. This year is a bit different, according to University Police Department Crime Information Officer Jason Bone- the event has been completely organized by Commerce Girl Scout Troop #94.
BONE:They've been doing great. They have gone out, gone door-to-door raising funds. they've been putting out fliers. I wish they could help me every year.
The Child Safety Fair will feature a variety of safety information for families as well as showcasing a Lifestar helicopter, fire truck, and the chance for children to operate a fire extinguisher and put out a real fire.
BONE:We will have safety information of all different types for children. And not just a particular age group of children; we're talking infants on up into teenage years.
Refreshments and a bounce house are also planned for the event.
The Child Safety Fair runs tomorrow from 2pm to 6pm at the Memorial Student Center on the A&M-Commerce campus. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
