Church safety seminar set for Monday

Greenville – Local residents can find a way to keep their churches safe next week. Hunt County officials are conducting the free seminar Monday in Greenville at Family Fellowship Church, I-30 and Division Street (Exit 95).

Investigator Jimmy Meeks of the Hurst Police Department and Investigator Michel Carroll of the Fort Worth Police Department will conduct the event. Meeks, an expert on Church safety issues, is a regular speaker at these events, while Carroll was the principle Investigator at the 1999 Wedgewood Church shootings in Fort Worth that killed seven.

Topics include, "Creating a Safe Zone", "Protecting Your Children from Sexual Predators", "Providing for First Response in Medical Emergencies", "Beginning a Church Safety Ministry" and many others.

The program is designed for Pastors, Police Officers, Deputies, Law Enforcement Administrators, Deacons, Elders, Church Members, School Administrators and other interested citizens.
