Commerce – Commerce ISD could soon have a new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach on the job. Superintendent Keith Boles said he would be making a recommendation for hire to the Commerce School Board in regular session next Monday.
The person would replace Bill Draughn, who stepped down from the position in December.
The Commerce Tigers are coming off a disappointing season where they posted just three wins and missed the playoffs for the first time in 15 years.
If the recommendation is approved by the Commerce Board of Trustees, Boles said the new Athletic Director should be on the job within the next two weeks.
