CISD explores standardized dress code

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – The Commerce School Board will be holding public meetings this week to gather public input into creating a standardized dress code for Commerce ISD. The Board has adopted a timeline for possible implementation of standardized dress, and will review the timeline at its February 16th regular meeting.

The purpose of the meetings is to inform the public what standardized dress is, why the district is considering making the decision, and what the benefits may be. A survey will also be mailed out to every parent in the district on February 1st.

Public meetings to discuss the possible standardized dress code will be held beginning tonight at 6:30 at the Commerce High School. Tomorrow evening at 6:30 at A.C. Williams Elementary. Wednesday at 6pm at the First United Methodist Church. And Thursday, February 1st at 6pm at Mt. Moriah Baptists Church.
